Podman (Containers) community meeting?
We have been discussing setting up a bi-weekly community/contributors meeting on the container engines. Would people/contributors be interested in participating in this? We are debating doing it either via bluejeans or just in IRC on the #podman channel in #freenode. We would like to have open communications about what we plan on working on in the Container Engines team and would like to get feedback requirements and other ideas from the greater community. What do people think? Our goal would be to do this at a time that is open to Full US and Europe at least to start. Maybe around 14:00 or 15:00 UTC.
After our conversation about it today, I was thinking maybe a quarterly meeting would be appropriate. I personally would prefer that we use some sort of video conference software above an IRC meeting. Personally I'd prefer the IRC route on a two week cycle or at most every month. A once a quarter video meeting in addition would be great in my book. I do share Brent's concern about using Podman's IRC channel as it has a lot of traffic already. That's great that it's busy, but it's hard to track meeting comments if non-related comments are coming in too. I'd suggest grabbing a new channel just for the meeting, or use the containers channel which is a lot quieter. My $.02, t

I'd be interested in joining a virtual community meeting on Podman and related technologies from the containers ecosystem as well. From my gut feeling a bi-weekly session seems too often, but for contributors (and not just highly interested spectators like me ;)) a higher frequency might be appropriate. In terms of communication medium I'd rather opt for bluejeans, but might require additional effort in documenting what has been discussed. Sounds great! I prefer video chat over IRC as I find more interactive and structured. Bi-weekly may be at a too high frequency but once a month may work. For instance, every first Tuesday of the month. Easy to remember. Kind regards, Valentin
