The podman-docker package exists on Fedora, CentOS and RHEL but not on other distributions. If you want it in Debian, I suggest reaching out to the Debian folks. If you have a tool talking to a Docker socket, you can point it to the Podman socket instead. Many tools use the DOCKER_HOST environment variable to point to a socket, which may be an option in your use case. Kind regards, Valentin

Hello, can you please share the source of podman-docker? This would allow me to build a package on Debian. Regards Thomas Am 16.03.2021 um 10:06 schrieb Valentin Rothberg:

podman-docker is a subpackage of podman. The Podman Makefile as a directive install.docker which will install the correct files. make install.docker I think this would be better as a subpackage of the podman package in Debian.

What you are asking for has been requested before as https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=984770. Unfortunately, it is too late for this to be considered in the upcoming Debian 11 (bullseye) release, but I'm hopeful that is something that will come with backports later this year. As for sources of the official Debian package, have a look here: - https://sources.debian.org/src/libpod/ - https://salsa.debian.org/debian/libpod - https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/libpod Best, -rt
