I think one big question would be packaging passt/pasta in distros. I don't think it is a good user experience when users cannot get this from the official repos.

By the way, Martin (in Cc:) already prepared a draft spec file for OpenSUSE a while ago: https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file/home:mnhauke/passt/passt.spec ...as you can see it's rather trivial. "BuildRequires: audit" can be dropped now, and there are already build tests for Debian (jessie to sid), Fedora (26 to 35), OpenSUSE (15.1 to tumbleweed) and Ubuntu (14.04 to 22.04) in the CI, mixing in a few archs.
