Podman supports kubernetes in a number of ways. For local podman-based use, there are a number of choices. I've used 'minikube' before and found it useful and easy to get started. There's even a built-in button for it in podman-desktop. While there's nothing I can do about the "learning kubernetes" part, there are number of GUI/WebUI front-ends available for kubernetes.
