and that happens when a rootful pod is up & running on a
given VM, but above command succeeds when pod is stopped.
all suggestions on possible "fix" are much appreciated.

Somebody who sent a
reply but not to the list, pointed to
SELinux - I did not think podman/container and qemu kvm
would be linked it that way but yes, it was
'virt_qemu_ga_read_nonsecurity_files' in my case.
